First World War Centenary - 2nd Lieutenant William Smyth Jackson Noble

As this year is the First World War Centenary, I would like to dedicate my painting "The Soldier" to 2nd Lieutenant William Smyth Jackson Noble of the Royal Scots (Lothian) Regiment, my second cousin, twice removed, and other members of the family, who fell during that war.  William was killed in action in Croiselles, France on the 21st March 1918, aged 20.  He was buried in Faubourg-d'Amiens Cemetery, Arras, Departement du Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France, Plot: Bay 1 and 2.  He was born on the 19th July, 1897 in Corstorphineco, Midlothia Scotland to Frank Noble and Betsy S. Robertson of 24 Wellington Street, Portobello, Edinburgh, Scotland.
